Contemplate Membership Terms
Billing, the free trial, cancelling, refunds and your coach.
Last updated: 4 November 2026
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
These terms are an agreement between you and Contemplate Wellness LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in India ("Contemplate", "we", "us").
- Principal place of business: A4, Ridges Villa, Chodhedara, Bhugaon, Lavasa, Pune, Maharashtra 412115, India.
- GSTIN: 27ACDFA5499C1ZC.
- Website: contemplate.life. Email: support@contemplate.life. WhatsApp: +91 81800 36099.
They cover the Contemplate membership, the Contemplate website and the web platform. By starting a free trial, buying a membership or creating an account you confirm that you have read and accept them. Our Privacy Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy are part of the deal. If they conflict with these terms about the membership, these terms apply.
2. Who can use Contemplate
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a legal contract in India to buy or use a membership.
- The membership is for adults. It is not offered to anyone under 18, even if a parent pays or is present. Parents who join for themselves are welcome; their children do not get an account, and your coach will never contact a child or teenager.
- If we find that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it and refund what was paid for the current period.
3. What the membership includes
Every plan has the same membership. Plans differ only in how often you pay.
- A personal mind-fitness coach on WhatsApp (section 11).
- The Adioscope, your private decision journal (section 12).
- The Vision Planner.
- The Contemplate web platform: the 16 principles, practices, exercises and learning resources. It runs in your browser; there is no app to download.
We may improve or change features over time. We will not materially reduce what a paid period includes while that period is running.
4. Plans, prices and tax
- In India the plans are ₹1,999 a month, ₹4,999 a quarter and ₹8,999 a year, in Indian rupees (INR). Outside India, prices are shown in US dollars on the pricing page.
- The price shown at checkout is the total you pay. It includes GST at the applicable rate. We issue a GST tax invoice for each payment. If you have not received one, email support@contemplate.life and we will send it.
- Payment is taken in advance for each billing period through our payment provider, Stripe, by debit or credit card. Contemplate never sees or stores your full card number.
5. Free trial
- Every plan starts with a 15-day free trial. You pay ₹0 today. Checkout shows the date your first payment will be taken.
- You must add a debit or credit card to start the trial. We use it only for the payment you agreed to.
- If you do nothing, the trial turns into a paid membership and your first payment is taken on the date shown at checkout, at the price of the plan you chose. If you cancel before the trial ends, you will not be charged.
- The trial is for first-time members: one per person, whichever plan or email address you use. A partner code (section 13) may change the trial or the price. Checkout will show what applies before you agree.
6. Automatic renewal and card payments
- After the trial, your membership renews automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly, quarterly or yearly) for the same period and the then-current price, until you cancel.
- When you start, you authorise Stripe to charge your card on a recurring basis. Your bank may ask you to approve this once, using your usual card authentication.
- Before every payment we will send you a reminder by email at least 24 hours before your card is charged, with the amount and date. You can cancel before that date and avoid the charge.
- Under Reserve Bank of India rules, a recurring card payment above the current limit (₹15,000 per payment) needs your fresh approval each time. All our current plans are below that limit. If a future price needs your fresh approval, we will ask first and will not charge you without it.
- You can also stop a recurring card payment through your bank or card issuer at any time. Please also tell us so that we can close your membership properly.
- If a payment fails, we may try again a limited number of times and may pause your access until it succeeds. We will tell you before we end a membership for non-payment.
7. Cancelling
- You can cancel at any time, with no penalty. Email support@contemplate.life or message us on WhatsApp from the email or number on your account. We will confirm in writing, normally within one business day.
- Cancelling stops future renewals. It takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep full access until then. During the free trial, cancelling ends your trial and no charge is made.
- To avoid the next charge, cancel before the renewal reminder date. If you asked in good time and we did not stop the charge, we will refund it.
8. Refunds
- 7-day refund on your first payment. Ask for a full refund within 7 days of your first payment of a new membership, whichever plan you chose. This includes the first payment taken after a free trial. Each person can use it once. Your access ends when the refund is made.
- Renewals are not refundable, except where a renewal was taken in error (for example, after you cancelled, or without the reminder in section 6) or where the law requires it.
- If you cancel, we do not refund the unused part of a period you have paid for, except as set out in this section and in section 16.
- Refunds go to the original card, usually within 10–14 business days after we approve them. To ask, email support@contemplate.life from your account email. The Refund & Cancellation Policy has the detail.
9. Price changes
We may change prices. A change never affects a period you have already paid for. We will tell you by email at least 30 days before a new price applies to your next renewal. If you do not agree, cancel before then and you will not pay the new price.
10. Not therapy, and what to do in a crisis
Contemplate is mind-fitness training for people who are well. It is not therapy, counselling, psychiatric or medical treatment, and it does not replace care from a qualified professional. Your coach does not diagnose, treat, or give medical, psychological, legal or financial advice. If you have, or think you may have, a mental-health condition, please see a doctor or a qualified mental-health professional. You can use Contemplate alongside therapy.
If you or someone else is in danger, or you are thinking of harming yourself, do not wait for your coach. In India, call 112 (national emergency number) or Tele-MANAS on 14416 (or 1-800-891-4416), the free 24-hour government mental-health helpline. Coaching is not an emergency service.
11. Your coach on WhatsApp
- Who: today there is one coach, the founder, Tarun Gulati. We may add coaches later, and we will introduce any new coach to you.
- Replies: your coach checks in with you within 24 hours of your membership starting, and replies to your messages within 24 hours at most. This is not an emergency service (section 10).
- What the coach does: helps you build a training plan, applies the Contemplate principles to situations you bring, and checks in on your practice. Coaching is one-to-one and for your own practice. We may set reasonable limits on volume if needed.
- Official channel only. All contact comes from Contemplate's official WhatsApp number and @contemplate.life email addresses. Your coach and Contemplate will never ask you for an OTP, card number, CVV, UPI PIN, password, bank details or any other sensitive information. Payments happen only on Stripe's secure checkout page. If anyone asks, do not share it, and tell us at support@contemplate.life.
- WhatsApp is run by Meta and has its own terms and privacy policy. Do not share anything through it that you would not want sent that way.
12. The Adioscope and your content
- Your Adioscope entries and Vision Planner are private to your account. No one at Contemplate, including your coach, reads them. The only exceptions are a legal obligation, and something you choose to show us when you ask for help.
- AI reads your entries only if you allow it. You choose this, and you can turn it off at any time.
- You own what you write. You give us only the permission needed to store it and run the features you use.
- We handle your personal data as set out in our Privacy Policy, including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, which also explains your rights to access, correct and erase your data.
13. Partner codes
- Partner codes are issued by Contemplate or by partners such as communities and organisations. A valid code may give a discount, a different trial or extra benefits. Checkout shows what a code gives you before you pay.
- Codes may expire, may be limited to certain plans or people, and cannot be combined unless we say so. A code has no cash value.
- If you join with a partner code, we may tell that partner that you joined and which plan you took. We never share what you write in the Adioscope or discuss with your coach.
- We may withdraw a discount obtained by misusing a code.
14. Using the service
- Your membership is personal. Do not share your login or let others use your account.
- Use Contemplate lawfully, be respectful to coaches and staff, and do not damage or overload the service. We may suspend or end a membership for abuse, fraud or serious misuse, telling you why where possible.
- Contemplate's content, principles, materials and software belong to us or our licensors. You may use them for your own practice. Do not copy, resell or redistribute them.
15. Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep the platform available but cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted. If we make a change that significantly reduces the membership, you can cancel and ask for a proportionate refund of any prepaid period.
16. Our responsibility to you
- Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or other law that cannot be excluded. Nor do they limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for deliberate wrongdoing.
- Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you for any claim about the membership is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim.
- Contemplate helps you think. The decisions you make are yours, and we are not responsible for them.
17. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Pune, Maharashtra have jurisdiction, without affecting your right to approach a consumer commission that has jurisdiction where you live or work, or to use the National Consumer Helpline (1915).
18. Complaints: Grievance Officer
If you have a complaint, write first to our Grievance Officer (Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020):
- Name: Tarun Gulati, Partner, Contemplate Wellness LLP
- Email: support@contemplate.life (subject line "Grievance")
- WhatsApp: +91 81800 36099

We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and resolve them within one month. For privacy requests, email privacy@contemplate.life.
19. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will email you at least 30 days before a change that affects your paid membership. It applies from your next renewal, and if you do not agree you can cancel before then. Changes that are required by law, or that only help you, can apply sooner.
