Is Your Mind Your Friend?

12 Principles for Clarity of Thought and Peace of Mind

ByTarun GulatiFounder, Contemplate

By using the simple yet powerful principles and practicing Contemplation, you can develop clarity of thought and achieve peace of mind for the rest of your life.

"We do not have a mental health problem in the world. We have a mental clarity problem. Most people are not unwell. They are unclear. Most people don't need therapy. They need clarity."

About the Book

In this book, Tarun takes a fundamental approach to mental wellbeing and lays out key principles that you can use everyday to make the right choices with respect to your education, work, relationships, parenting, and other important dimensions in your life.

Every choice you make must pass the fundamental filter - Does this make me more peaceful or does this make me more restless or less peaceful? Peace of mind, and not happiness, is our goal, and the key principles laid out in the book will help you achieve that goal without much difficulty.

The principles are simple, hence powerful. You combine these principles with a regular practice of Contemplation - deep thinking. This helps you find all your answers, on your own, without depending on anyone else, for the rest of your life.

This book is more of a practice manual rather than an academic guide. The Contemplation framework Tarun introduces in this book is called ADIOS - A Dialogue In Objective Silence - and comes from his personal experience and experimentation with Contemplation on these Contemplate principles for more than 15 years consciously, and more than 25 years subconsciously.

The book turns clarity of thought and peace of mind into simple, achievable skills rather than gifts you need to be born with. If you can learn to ride a bike, play the piano or swim, you can learn to think more clearly and be peaceful.
